Saudi-Bahrain causeway authority likely to finalize e-payment lanes by end of month, says official

Saudi-Bahrain causeway authority is expected finalize the first phase of the e-payment lanes at the Saudi Bahraini sides by the end of this month, Alriyadh newspaper reported, citing Emad Almohaisen, Director General of King Fahd Causeway Authority (KFCA).

A renovation process was implemented in the Saudi side, and the new gates were fully constructed during traffic suspension over the last few months, due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

KFCA implemented a number of developments as well as infrastructure projects and maintenance works during the lockdown period, which will increase the causeway capacity to 50%.

No decision has been issued so far on reopening the causeway for passengers.
