The Oversight and Anti-Corruption Commission (Nazaha) initiated a number of criminal cases during the last period with regulatory procedures being completed against the accused, an official source said.

The most prominent cases addressed were:

The first case: arresting three officers of the Royal Guard (retired major general, colonel and lieutenant colonel) working in the department of contracts and procurement, and 21 businessmen and expatriates of Arab nationality, for the officers to award tenders to companies belonging to them and their acquaintances, through violating the system of bidding and government procurement system.

In addition, they disbursed money to those companies unjustly, using their relatives to obtain the money obtained, and buying real estate inside and outside the Kingdom to cover the sources of those funds, where the amount received from these crimes so far reached SAR 400 million. Investigations are still ongoing with the parties of the case.

The second case: the suspension of an employee of the Royal Court who previously worked in the Land and Grants Department, and two citizens (intermediaries) for the first to complete the procedures for the extraction of 79 royal grants to citizens, in exchange for cash through the intermediaries, where the total amount received was SAR 2.185 million.

Nazaha emphasized that it continues to monitor and control anyone who infringes on public funds, exploits the position for the benefit of his or her own interest, or harms the public interest, adding it continues to apply the system's obligations to violators without compromise.
