The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) stated that the agricultural production inputs exempted from customs duties under the Cabinet Resolution issued on Feb. 6 include equipment and machinery in some fields.

These fields include poultry, dairy, as well as agricultural, animal, and fisheries wealth, in addition to preservation and refrigeration warehouses.

This also includes the production inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, compound feed production inputs.

The ministry confirmed that the step contributes to developing the local content and the agricultural sector through supporting investments.

The reduction of production costs through bearing part of the cost enhances the capabilities of small agricultural producers, cooperative societies, and rural institutions, the ministry said.

It added that the resolution allows obtaining production resources, agricultural services, and access to markets. It also allows diversifying the production base of agriculture and contributes to achieving food security.
