Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al Khateeb welcomed Hilton Hotels Corp.'s commitment to expanding its footprint in Saudi Arabia as the group plans to open more than 60 new hotels across the country in the upcoming years, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Christopher J. Nassetta, CEO of Hilton, praised the advancements in Saudi Arabia's tourism infrastructure. He affirmed Hilton's expansion plan in the Kingdom, revealing that two-thirds of the group's projects in Saudi Arabia are currently under construction, with an eye to quadruple its presence nationwide.
The anticipated projects are set to generate approximately 10,000 job opportunities, with a focus on employing Saudi citizens for more than half of these positions, according to the top executive.
Nassetta emphasized Hilton's dedication to fostering a goal-oriented work environment, including collaborations with academic institutions to provide training programs. This initiative aims to empower Saudi citizens across the Kingdom, facilitating their access to permanent positions within the thriving hospitality sector.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism's initiative to attract global brands like Hilton aligns with the Kingdom's commitment to developing the tourism sector to offer world-class services, the CEO highlighted.
The goal is to surpass 500,000 hotel rooms by 2030, contributing significantly to the Saudi Vision 2030 goals of hosting 150 million tourists and elevating the tourism sector's GDP contribution by 10% by then.
