At least seven international and regional contracting groups have submitted bids for the construction of the new $1.4 billion Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences, which will become an extension of the Atlantis Hotel on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah, Middle East Economic Digest (MEED) reported.
The United Arab Emirates-based Habtoor Leighton Group, Al Futtaim Carillion, Arabtec Construction, Bel Hasa Six Construct and Al Jaber LEGT Engineering and Contracting (ALEC) were said to have placed bids, along with Lebanon’s Arabian Construction Co. (ACC), Turkey’s TAV and Canada’s Brookfield Multiplex.
The project is scheduled to be completed by 2017, according to an earlier report published by MEED. The new 46-story development will include 800 guest rooms, 250 luxury residences, as well as retail outlets.
