Saudi Research and Marketing Group Co.’s board has appointed former education minister, Azzam Al-Dakhil, as new chief executive officer, effective from Dec. 13, the company said in a statement to the Saudi bourse, Tadawul on Sunday.
Al-Dakhil, an advisor at the royal court, will replace acting CEO Saleh al-Dowais.
The company also picked Prince Badr bin Abdullah Al Saud as chairman of the board until its term expires on April 30, 2018.
The new appointments will be presented for approval at the next general assembly meeting, the statement said.
The company also said that Abdul Rahman Ibrahim Rwaita’s resignation from the board citing personal reasons has been accepted.
SRMG, the publisher of pan-Arab newspaper Asharq al-Awsat and one of the Middle East's largest media companies, said in November that funds owned by NCB Capital bought a 55.21 percent stake in the company.
