Emaar EC appoints new audit committee member

Emaar The Economic City’s (Emaar EC) board of directors appointed today, Oct. 8, Osama Barian, an independent board member, as a member in the audit committee, until the end of the current term on April 23, 2023, the company said in a bourse filing.

He replaces Khalid Almolhem, who resigned on Sept. 27, 2020, for exiting the board.

According to the audit committee charter, the head of the audit committee should be an independent board member.

The appointment of the new member is pending the general meeting’s approval, the statement said.
