Alkhorayef Water inks contract with NWC to operate, maintain sewage treatment plant

Alkhorayef Water and Power Technologies Co. received the SAR 1.62 billion contract signed with National Water Co. (NWC) to rehabilitate, operate and maintain sewage treatment plants (STPs) in Manfouha, Riyadh.

 

The relevant financial impact is expected to appear in the third quarter of 2023, the company said in a Tadawul filing today, Aug. 6.

 

The contract entails work on Manfouha North STP (MNN), Manfouha East STP (MNE) and Manfouha Phase 4 STP (MN4).

 

The rehabilitation will be completed in two phases over 36 months from the contract date. Meanwhile, the operation and maintenance will be carried out over 15 years (180 months) from the contract date, in conjunction with commencement of rehabilitation work.

 

The total design treatment capacity of the three STPs is 700,000 cubic meters per day, the statement noted.

 

AWPT was awarded, on April 17, a long-term contract by the NWC to operate and maintain sewage treatment plants in Manfouha, Riyadh. The 15-year deal is valued at SAR 1.62 billion, Argaam earlier reported.
