CST issues Game Mode report for Q2 2023

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) issued the Game Mode initiative report for the second quarter of 2023, which reflected a better performance of electronic games in the Kingdom.

 

Electronic games performance improved by up to 33% compared to the same period in 2022. In addition, all service providers reached an improvement rate of 100% as regards the stability of electronic games in bufferbloat.

 

According to the report, stc won the Platinum Operator Award after achieving the highest rate in a number of criteria, including hosting electronic games locally and improving their quality, in addition to supporting electronic game packages and the player community. This was also for providing cloud gaming platforms.

 

The report also highlighted the download speeds for electronic game platforms in the Kingdom compared to the speeds of users’ packages. Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily) topped the list of operators in download speed for electronic games via the PlayStation platform by 91%, the STEAM platform (59%), and the XBOX platform (100%).

 

Meanwhile, stc and Mobily led in the best response time rate for eight games: Call of Duty, FIFA, Apex Legends, PUBG Mobile, VALORANT, OVERWATCH2, Rocket League, and Battlefield.

 

stc topped the list with five games: Fortnite, Dota2, World of Warcraft, Rainbow Six Siege, and League of Legends, while Mobily topped with two games: Among Us and PUBG.
