Egyptian Vice Minister for Tourism Ghada Shalaby
Egypt's Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism Affairs, Ghada Shalaby, stated Saudi Arabia is a key market for Egyptian tourism, emphasizing that the ministry is working to attract more Saudi tourists.
Shalaby emphasized the importance of collaboration in developing joint complementary tourism programs between Egyptian and Saudi companies, as well as promoting "Umrah+", which allows pilgrims to perform Umrah, travel to Egypt, and visit notable Islamic sites and monuments, according to a statement by the ministry.
Egypt has many tourism investment opportunities in a variety of tourist areas, Shalaby said, citing mechanisms used in Umrah trips and coordination between the ministries of tourism in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
