Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy announced the qualified bidders for the activity of establishing, developing, operating and maintaining liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) filling and storage facilities, and the activity of wholesale LPG distribution to consumers, state-run SPA reported, citing a ministerial statement.

The list included Aldrees Petroleum & Transport Services Co., United Gas Co., ADNOC Distribution Gulf Co., The Petroleum Projects and Technical Consultations Co. (Petrojet) & Elsewedy Electric alliance, Blue Gas & SET Group alliance, Blue Gas & MAKEEN Energy alliance, NGC Energy Saudi Co., SERGAS Group, UNIGAZ Arabia Co., United Stars Transport and Contracting Co. and EHC Investments & Gas Solutions Co. alliance.

Following the shortlisting of qualified bidders, tender documents will be shared with them in order to apply for licenses to carry out the distribution of dry gas and LPG for residential and commercial purposes, the ministry said.

The ministry also emphasized that qualified bidders in the next stage must provide work programs, technical and financial feasibility, operational plans, and security and safety principles for improving the quality of services provided to consumers and ensuring security of LPG supplies in the Kingdom.

The announcement of bidders came in line with the previously announced ministerial initiative aimed at protecting the rights and interests of all consumers and licensees.

The initiative also targets improving the quality of services, creating an attractive competitive environment, raising the standards for work methods and technologies used in sector-related activities, and localizing technologies in this field to increase its contribution to the gross domestic product. This is in order to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
