Umm Al-Qura Cement Co. reported a net profit of SAR 6.44 million for the first nine months of 2018, a 79 percent year-on-year (YoY) on lower sales value driven by lower selling prices.

 

The company also cited higher general and administrative expenses, higher financial charges, higher selling and marketing expenses, as well as recording a provision for trade receivables as per IFRS 9.

The Q3 loss came versus a net profit of SAR 199,673 in the previous quarter due to lower gross margins driven by higher prices, higher general and administrative expenses, and higher financial charges.
