TASI ends Ramadan on high note, leaps 1.2%

Saudi Arabia’s benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) closed Ramadan 1.2%, or 149 points, higher at 12,705 points.

 

Ramadan witnessed the deadline of disclosing Q1 2024 corporate financial results.

 

The number of trading sessions during Ramadan this year was 19. The index ended higher in 12 and declined in seven.

 

The benchmark has gained 6.2% or 738 points since the beginning of 2024 until the end of Ramadan.

TASI Performance

 

TASI hit its highest level during Ramadan on March 24 at 12,883 points and the highest close on March 21 at 12,836 points, its highest level since May 2022.

 

Meanwhile, the index hit its lowest level on April 1 at 12,373 points and the lowest close on March 31 at 12,402 points.

 

The market recorded its highest traded value of SAR 14.36 billion on March 14 and the lowest traded value of SAR 5.91 billion on March 31.

The average daily traded value reached SAR 8.98 billion in Ramadan, up from SAR 5.40 billion a year before.

 

Stock Performance

 

A total of 87 stocks moved higher in Ramadan, while 125 moved down.

 

Saudi Advanced Industries Co. (SAIC) was the top gainer, soaring 29%. It was followed by the Mediterranean and Gulf Insurance and Reinsurance Co. (MEDGULF) that leapt by 28%.
