Saudi Arabia to finish infrastructure of 3 solar projects by end-2019

King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) expects to finish the infrastructure of three solar power projects by the end of 2019, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported.
 
Under KACST’s supervision, work in the following three projects is currently progressing:

 

1) The National Initiative for Water Desalination Using Solar Energy, which includes building a desalination plant with a production capacity of 30,000 cubic meters per day, and a 10 megawatt solar power plant.

 

2) Building the first independent solar power station in the Kingdom to produce 50 megawatt of solar energy in Al-Aflaj.

 

3) Producing electric power using photovoltaic cells in Taif’s Technology Oasis.
