Saudi Arabia plans to set up a digital market platform, which is forecast to be launched with the Digital Government Authority, Al Eqtisadiah newspaper reported.

The new platform comes in line with the Kingdom’s unified procurement strategy as it seeks to offer computer programs and systems at competitive prices. The platform will also provide a number of technology solutions and services to the government entities in line with the applied criteria, which will contribute to the enhancement of the Kingdom’s digitalized economy.

The Saudi Cabinet ratified the regulation of the Digital Government Authority on March 9, 2021, according to data compiled by Argaam.

The Saudi Cabinet's approval to establish the Digital Government Authority opens up new horizons in digital government services to enrich the citizen's experience through proactive and integrated digital services, said Abdullah Alswaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Chairman of the National Digital Transformation Unit.
