The Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) aims to launch a national supply chains program for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs soon, Al Eqtisadiah newspaper reported, citing CEO Walid Abukhaled.

He added that the success of the company and military industry locally depends on the presence of strong supply chains to support the Kingdom in this sector.

In 2023, SAMI won manufacturing contracts worth SAR 9 billion, the top executive said, noting that SAMI's annual revenues grew by 21%, while the contracts in the pipeline are estimated at SAR 15 billion.

The company has a department specialized in future technologies, as it seeks to have an outlook on possible risks and build defensive capabilities, Abukhaled said.
