Saudi Aramco is considering utilizing advanced building materials from China National Building Material Co. (CNBM) for its Al-Khobar stadium, one of the venues for the 2034 FIFA World Cup, according to Al-Eqtisadiah.

The company explained that advanced construction materials are among the alternatives being considered for use in the stadium and other construction projects.

Aramco highlighted that the building materials sector offers opportunities to explore replacing traditional, high-carbon-emission materials with advanced alternatives, such as non-metallic materials, which could help reduce carbon emissions and strengthen the localization of more industries in Saudi Arabia.

As previously reported by Argaam, Saudi Aramco began working on the 47,000-seat stadium in July. The stadium is expected to be completed by 2026 and will be one of the main venues for the AFC Asian Cup, which Saudi Arabia will host in 2027.
