Southern Cement delays Bisha completion to June

11/02/2016 Argaam

Southern Province Cement Co. (SPCC), the kingdom’s second-largest cement producer, expects to complete the second production line at Bisha cement plant by June 30, the company said in a statement Thursday.

The project was expected to be complete by February, but is only 83 percent finished due to contractor delays.

The cement producer added that it projects no extra costs from this delay.

In November 2013, SPPC signed an agreement to build a SAR 713 million second production line at Bisha plant.

The company expected to begin clinker trial and commercial production after 20 months and 23 months, respectively, from the deal signing date.
