Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco) has received bids for the construction of a pipeline that will transport oil products in the western region of the kingdom, Middle East Economic Digest (MEED) reported, citing unnamed sources familiar with the project.
The new pipeline is said to transport gasoline, diesel and jet fuel between Yanbu and Jeddah.
Companies bidding for the $600 million contract include Al Khobar-based Nesma & Partners, the UAE’s Dodsal, Egypt’s Engineering for the Petroleum & Process Industries (Enppi), India’s Larsen & Toubro, Turkey’s Tefken Construction and Italy’s Saipem.
The project will cover two pipelines running between the Red Sea refining hub in Yanbu and North Jeddah.
In March, the state-owned oil giant had tendered the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the Yanbu-North Jeddah Products Pipeline, and bids were submitted on May 18.
