How did major shareholders’ ownership in Saudi-listed firms change in 2019?
Major shareholders raised their stakes in 23 Tadawul-listed companies, with 17 new shareholders joining the list in 2019, a recent study conducted by Argaam showed.
Major shareholders own 5% or more of any company listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul).
Since 2011, Argaam has been monitoring and publishing major ownership changes for all listed companies, providing its subscribers with the opportunity to review daily changes by clicking on “Major shareholders Changes” link.

A total of 48 equity reductions were recorded in the same period. Meanwhile, 47 shareholders exited major owners’ lists in the same period, mainly in the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) and the Public Pension Agency (PPA).
During 2019, GOSI has transferred some of its stakes in several Tadawul-listed companies to Hassana Investment Co. (HIC).
