Saudi banks raise investments in treasury bonds to SAR 384 bln in 2019

Saudi banks’ investments in treasury bonds increased by SAR 78.5 billion year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 383.7 billion in 2019, new data from the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) showed.

 

Similarly, banks’ investments in treasury bonds rose by SAR 3.7 billion in December 2019, compared to a month earlier.

 

SAMA’s foreign assets declined by SAR 6.8 billion in December 2019 to around SAR 1.912 trillion.
