CITC announces Saudi Arabia’s most improved internet service providers in Q4

The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) announced the most improved internet service providers within the Kingdom in Q4 2019.

 

The average rate of mobile internet performance rose during Q4 2019, according to CITC’s Meqyas quarterly report which measures the quality of internet services in the Kingdom.

 

Saudi Telecom Co. (STC) delivered the highest average performance of 52.7 megabits per second (mbps), an increase of 16.1% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) in Q4.

 

The performance of Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily) and Mobile Telecommunications Company Saudi Arabia (Zain Saudi) improved by 4.4% and 23.1% QoQ to an average speed of 40.5 and 39.9 mbps, respectively.

 

The report also compared other parameters such as uploading speed, streaming quality, upload time, response and other features related to mobile and fixed internet.

 

In Q1 2018, CITC issued the first Meqyas report to test the internet quality in the Kingdom in order to improve service quality and enhance competitiveness among service providers.
