Saudi Arabia eases curfew hours, resumes domestic flights and prayers in mosques

Saudi Arabia started today easing movement in all cities except Makkah from 6am to 8pm, until June 20.

Suspension of employee attendance in work places was lifted in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and in coordination with the Ministry of Health and competent authorities.

In addition, domestic flights and intercity travel by different means of transportation resumed in adherence to the necessary preventive measures.

Previously excluded activities will continue their operations in addition to allowing some other ones to resume work such as restaurants and cafes.

Meanwhile, congregation prayers will be allowed in mosques across Saudi Arabia except in Makkah.

However, prayers will continue to be held at the Holy Mosque in Makkah while complying to the predetermined precautionary measures.

On the other hand, all activities that do not ensure social distancing will continue to be prohibited, including salons, barber shops, sports and health clubs, recreational centers, cinemas, and other activities as determined by the competent authorities.

According to data compiled by Argaam, Saudi Arabia began to partially lift the curfew starting from Thursday, May 28, by allowing free movement from 6am until 3pm, while the curfew will be totally lifted starting from June 21.
