Prince Mohammed calls upon innovators, investors to build knowledge economies

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman called upon all dreamers, innovators, investors and opinion leaders to join the Kingdom in building knowledge economies and advance the current and future generations.

This came in a speech delivered on behalf of the Crown Prince by the President of the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SDAIA), Dr. Abdullah Alghamdi, during the Global AI Summit.

The two-day virtual event brings together the world’s leading CEOs, innovators and policymakers.

“We will unlock the potential of data and AI to fulfill our national transformation priorities and establish Saudi Arabia as a global hub for data and artificial intelligence," Prince Mohammed said.

He also added that Saudi Arabia is looking forward to joining hands with its partners to accelerate the adoption of AI capabilities to achieve sustainable development, while capitalizing on the global experience in this field.

"This is an exceptional year as it tested AI capabilities at the time that we witness a new global status that redefine the ways we pursue our lives, business and learning. This prompts all of us to think and work with utmost power to advance our societies and economies," he further noted.

"During the G20 Summit in Japan, we reiterated the importance of AI as pivotal for laying out our presence and future," the Crown Prince said.

He noted that Saudi Arabia translates this by launching an ambitious national strategy for data and AI, with the aim of becoming a model example in AI for the whole world.

"I am inviting all to work with a spirit of cooperation towards mapping out the future of AI, in a manner that best serves all societies, prioritizes participation over competition, and focuses on reliable and responsible utilization of AI and its applications," Prince Mohammed concluded.
