Saudi Arabia seeks to maintain the efficient safety measures taken during the first wave of the COVID-19 outbreak, said Ajlan Alajlan, Chairperson, Council of Saudi Chambers, on the sidelines of a meeting held on Feb. 10, 2021, with the Saudi business owners.

“A lockdown decision is mainly driven by the leniency of some residents and business owners in the implementation of the precautionary measures,” he added, while discussing measures to curb the second wave of the pandemic.

The Council of Saudi Chambers is committed to ensure the commercial entities’ firm compliance with the precautionary measures to prevent the pandemic spread and avoid the lockdown decision, Alajlan indicated.

Saudi Ministry of Interior announced, in a statement, on Feb. 4, 2021, suspending all events and parties, including weddings, corporate meetings and the like, in banquet halls and independent wedding halls or affiliated with hotels, as well as in rental rest houses and camps that are used for those purposes, for a period of 30 days, that may be extended, Argaam reported.
