Saudi Arabia’s flexible work system targets all business divisions across the labor market, Al Youm newspaper reported, citing a source at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.

The new work regulation will likely provide several job opportunities in a number of business segments, including restaurants, cafes, hotels, entertainment, tourism, media and marketing, technology, healthcare, transport, order delivery and law.

The new regulation aims to create opportunities for Saudi jobseekers, in addition to raising awareness of the flexible working hours system. It further boosts Saudization, cuts unemployment rates, and fulfills the requirements of the private sector facilities.

In August 2020, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Ahmed Al-Rajhi, launched the “MRN.SA” service for documenting flexible work contracts between the employee and the employer, Argaam reported.

Al-Rajhi said that the flexible work program would contribute to boosting the Kingdom’s economy — at the levels of enterprises and individuals — to achieve the objectives of Vision 2030 by increasing the number of local cadres integrated into the job market.
