Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani), in partnership with the National Center for Privatization & PPP (NCP), announced a list of 79 firms that submitted an expression of interest (EOI) for the eight new multi-purpose terminal concessions across Saudi Arabia, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported.

This came in line with Mawani’s strategy, which aimed to boost the Kingdom’s position as an international logistics hub and develop a sustainable maritime sector.

According to data compiled by Argaam, in July, Mawani invited bids for the potential award of eight new multi-purpose terminal concessions on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis. These ports are:

- Multi-purpose terminal at King Abdulaziz Port Dammam

- Multi-purpose terminal at Jeddah Islamic Port

- Multi-purpose terminal at Jazan Port

- Multi-purpose terminal at Jubail Commercial Port

- Multi-purpose terminal at King Fahd Industrial Port Jubail

- Multi-purpose terminal at Ras Al Khair Port

- Multi-purpose terminal at Yanbu Commercial Port
