Saudi Arabia launches MENA's largest solar panel factory in Tabuk

Saudi Arabia witnessed, today, Nov. 17, the launch of the first production phase of the largest solar panel plant in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region in Tabuk Industrial City, over an area of 27,000 square meters (sqm), Saudi Press Agency reported.
 

With investments of up to SAR 700 million, the plant will operate with a production capacity of nearly 1.2 gigawatts (GW).
 

This is also one of the Kingdom's advanced factories in the field of automation, with production mechanisms that rely on machines and employ topnotch technologies.
 

Osama bin Abdulaziz Al Zamil, Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, stressed, during the inauguration, that this plant aims to activate investment in solar energy and diversify energy sources.
 

He added that the plant enables the integration with the relevant government agencies and the private sector represented in industrial investors to support industries related to renewable and sustainable energy across the Kingdom.
 

The presence of such factories in Tabuk has a strategic dimension, especially with its proximity to major projects such as NEOM and the Red Sea, in addition to the availability of qualified national human resources, Al Zamil concluded.
