Al-Sheikh says e-learning now part of education process, continue to develop curriculum

E-learning has become part of the educational process, and the ministry is considering digitizing secondary school curricula for the next year, Minister of Education Hamad Al-Sheikh stated.

At the Saudi Budget Forum 2022 held today, Dec. 13, he said that distance education will contribute to improving equal access to outstanding education and will contribute to raising operational efficiency by designing operational solutions and models, and multiple systems to deliver services for beneficiaries.

He stressed that the ministry continues to develop the curriculum in an integrated manner and aims at developing resources to achieve the objectives of Vision 2030.

One of the ministry's top priorities in 2022 is to continue to strengthen the Kingdom's position in global competitiveness and align outputs with the labor market, Al-Sheikh noted.

Capacity and demand for all existing and planned projects had been reviewed to ensure that the demand remained in place or needed to be increased, the minister added, indicating that 902 insolvent projects were reconsidered, whether by withdrawal, terminating contracts and re-assignment to a specialized company.

With the circumstances of the pandemic, the ministry received and operated 241 integrated projects, while 671 rented buildings had been laid off in the past two years.
