NEOM Green Hydrogen names David Edmondson as CEO

NEOM Green Hydrogen Co.'s board of directors announced appointing David Edmondson as Chief Executive Officer, Saudi Press Agency reported.

 

Edmondson holds a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Liverpool, and an MBA from Kingston University.

 

He has more than 34 years of experience in working at Air Products, during which he held various leadership positions around the world in the engineering and gas production sectors, including the Middle East. His recent positions at the company included Vice President for Business Transformation as well as Vice President and CEO for Jazan integrated gasification project.

 

NEOM, ACWA Power and US-based Air Products signed an agreement in July, 2020 for a $5 billion world-scale green hydrogen-based ammonia production facility powered by renewable energy, according to Argaam's data.

 

The project, equally owned by the three partners, will be located in NEOM and will produce green ammonia for export to global markets.

 

Air Products will be the exclusive off-taker of the green ammonia and intends to transport it around the world to be dissociated to produce green hydrogen for the transportation market. The facility is scheduled to be onstream in 2025.
