Sadara Chemical announces board member resignation, appointment

Sadara Chemical Co., the parent company of Sadara Basic Services Co., announced that Abdulkarim Ali A-l Ghamdi (non-executive) submitted his resignation from board membership on April 17, in order to assume other duties.

The company said in a bourse statement that the resignation was accepted on April 27.

In addition, the company announced the board’s approval for the appointment of Khalid Yahya Al Qahtani (non-executive), starting April 27.

Qahtani is the chief engineer at Saudi Aramco, where he joined in 1999. He holds a B.Sc degree in chemical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, and also earned a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Waterloo in Canada.

He also completed a number of leadership programs, including financial and risk management program and an executive program at Wharton School of Business.

The board approval is not final and the appointment will be presented at the next general assembly meeting, the statement said.
