Naqi Water signs agreement to sell, export products in Oman

Naqi Water Co. signed an agreement to sell and export its products in Oman, the company said in a bourse statement today, Aug. 29.

The move comes as part of the company's expansion plans to reach the largest customer base inside and outside Saudi Arabia, by exporting its products to the GCC countries, where the company achieved strong success in exporting its products in Kuwait and Bahrain.

The company continues to make progress and success by signing this agreement, and continues to work on exporting to the rest GCC countries in the coming period.

Saudi Cabinet approved exporting bottled drinking water outside the Kingdom and set regulations for the process while it prohibited the export of unbottled water and ice.

In July 2020, the Cabinet approved exporting bottled water, provided that the plants should obtain an export license from the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture after the following requirements are met.

Exports should not exceed 7% of the actual production capacity of the plant that depends on non-renewable groundwater sources and 60% of the actual production capacity of the plant that uses renewable water sources.

In addition, the regulations should be periodically revised by the Ministry of Environment and published in an official newspaper, according to data available with Argaam.
