SATORP appoints Abdullah Al-Suwailem as President and CEO to replace Sulaiman Ababtain

Arabian Aramco Total Services Co. announced that the board of directors of its parent company, Saudi Aramco Total Refining & Petrochemical Co. (SATORP), appointed Abdullah Al-Suwailem as President and CEO of SATORP, in place of Sulaiman Ababtain, according to a bourse filing.

The appointment is effective as of Sept. 1, 2022 for a period of five years.

Al-Suwailem has more than 34 years of experience in the refining and petrochemical business and held different managerial and executive positions in Saudi Aramco and its affiliates as well as joint ventures (JVs). This includes serving as General Manager for the JV with Petronas in Malaysia (PrefChem), President of Aramco Asia in China, General Manager of Jazan Refinery, as well as President and CEO of Rabigh Refining & Petrochemical Co. (Petro Rabigh).

Al-Suwailem holds a Bachelor of Science degree in applied chemical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
