Prince Khalid bin Salman Minister of Defense


King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued today, Sept. 27, three royal decrees, reshuffling the Kingdom’s Cabinet and appointing Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as Prime Minister. 

 

Prince Khalid bin Salman was named new Minister of Defense. 

 

Prince Khalid earned a bachelor's degree in aviation sciences from King Faisal Air Academy, and continued his education in the United States. He obtained a certificate from Harvard University in their senior executives in the national and international security program.


He also studied advanced electronic warfare in Paris. 


Prince Khalid joined the Royal Saudi Air Force, and commenced his aviation career.


Upon completion of his military career, he was appointed as a senior civilian advisor at the Ministry of Defense. In 2017, Prince Khalid became the Saudi Ambassador to the US until 2017.


He has been appointed as Vice Minister of Defense since 2019.
