Saudi MSMEs receive SAR 221 bln credit facilities in Q2 2022

Credit facilities extended to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) rose by 11% to almost SAR 221 billion in Q2 2022, from SAR 198.2 billion in Q2 2021, data from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) showed.
Banks accounted for SAR 205.6 billion worth of credit facilities, or 93% of total financing. Facilities given by financing institutions stood at SAR 15.4 billion, or 7% of total credit facilities.

Medium enterprises accounted for SAR 134.9 billion, or 66% of Saudi banks' facilities, while small enterprises held around SAR 55.8 billion in the second quarter of the year, as shown below:
