Saudi holdings of US Treasuries up to $122.1 bln in August

Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries reached $122.1 billion in August 2022, up $478 million month-on-month, new data released by the US Treasury showed.

 

The Kingdom rose to the 16th place among the largest holders of US debt in August.

 

Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries were distributed among long-term bonds worth $105.03 billion, representing 86% of the total, and short-term bonds worth $17.06 billion, accounting for 14%.

Japan was the top holder of US Treasury bonds in August with a value of $1.199 trillion, followed by China with a value of $971.8 billion, as the following table shows:
