Saudi non-oil exports up 4% to SAR 24.9 bln in October

Saudi Arabia’s non-oil exports grew by 4.4%, or SAR 1.04 billion, year-on-year (YoY) to around SAR 24.91 billion in October, preliminary data from the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.

 

On a month-on-month (MoM) basis, non-oil exports fell by SAR 96 million.

 

Non-oil exports accounted for 20.6% of the Kingdom’s total merchandise exports in October, amounting to SAR 120.70 billion.

Products of chemical or allied industries accounted for 41% of the total non-oil exports, rising by 33% YoY in the same month to SAR 10.20 billion.

 

Plastics, rubber and articles thereof dropped 16% YoY to SAR 6.4 billion in October. Exports of machinery and mechanical appliances jumped 21% YoY.

On port level, King Fahd Industrial Port in Jubail accounted for 19.4%, or SAR 4.82 billion, of the Kingdom’s non-oil exports in October. Dammam’s King Abdulaziz Port came second with SAR 4.5 billion of total merchandise exports.

 

Sea customs ports represented 74% of Saudi Arabia’s total non-oil exports, while land and air ports accounted for 19.2% and 6.8%, respectively, as follows:
