GACA issues December report on performance of local, international airports

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) issued its report on the performance of local and international airports in Saudi Arabia for December 2022.  

For international airports, where the number of passengers exceeds 15 million annually, Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport took the first place with a compliance rate of 82%, followed by King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh with 64%.  

For international airports with the number of passengers ranging between five to 15 million annually, King Fahd International Airport (KFIA) led the way with a compliance rate of 91%. Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport came second with 91%. 

In international airports with two million to five million passengers annually, Abha International Airport and King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Airport in Jazan achieved 100% compliance.  

On the other hand, Al-Jouf Airport took the first place with 100% compliance rate among peers with less than two million passengers annually. 

For domestic airports, Bisha Airport came on top with100% compliance rate. 

In evaluating the performance of airports, GACA relies on 14 operational criteria, including the waiting times for passengers and the time spent by passengers in baggage handling, in accordance with international best practices.
