Chemical products exports down 1% to SAR 8.8 bln in November 2022; imports up 10% to 5.7 bln

Saudi Arabia's exports of chemical industry products and related products reached nearly SAR 8.83 billion in November 2022, marking a year-on-year (YoY) decrease of 1%.

This is the first decline in exports of chemical products in nearly two years, or since December 2020, when exports recorded a decline of 19%.

Compared to October 2022, exports of chemical products fell by SAR 1.36 billion, or 13.4%.

Exports of chemical products represented 39% of total non-oil exports in November 2022, amounting to SAR 22.75 billion, as shown in the following table:

India topped the list of countries importing chemical products from Saudi Arabia by nearly SAR 1.9 billion and 21% of the total value of exports of chemical products in November 2022. China and Germany followed at 17% and 10%, respectively, as indicated in the table below:

On the other hand, the Kingdom's imports of chemical and industry-related products amounted to SAR 5.66 billion during November 2022, up by 10% YoY.

Germany took the lead of the countries exporting to Saudi Arabia with about SAR 756 million, representing 13% of total imports of chemical products during the month. The US followed, exporting SAR 693.2 million worth of chemical products to Saudi Arabia. China came third with SAR 472.1 million.
