US oil inventories rise nearly 9 million barrels last week: API

US oil inventories rose by 9 million barrels during the week ended Nov. 17, latest data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) showed.

 

Gasoline stocks fell by 1.79 million barrels last week, while distillate stocks – including diesel and heating oil – fell by 3.5 million barrels, recording the largest decline since early October.

 

Meanwhile, Brent crude for January delivery rose 0.15%, or 13 cents, to close at $82.45 per barrel on Nov. 21, marking gains for the third session in a row.

 

WTI crude for January delivery fell 0.1%, or 6 cents, to record $77.77 per barrel.
