Interior Ministry launches AI-equipped Saudi Lucid: Spokesman

The Ministry of Interior launched a “Saudi Lucid” smart vehicle equipped with artificial intelligence (AI), Talal Al Shalhoub, the ministry’s security spokesperson, told Argaam.

During an interview on the sidelines of the World Defense Show, Al Shalhoub explained that the vehicle will play a crucial role in enhancing the capabilities of security personnel and optimizing their performance across various tasks, ultimately ensuring the security and safety of the Kingdom's citizens, visitors, and residents.

The spokesperson underscored that AI is not a novel technology for the ministry, emphasizing that all technologies within the ministry are AI-enhanced.

The ministry has previously leveraged AI to manage crowds, particularly during the Hajj and Umrah seasons, utilizing platforms such as “Sawaher” and “Baseer”.

Furthermore, the ministry is actively training and preparing security personnel to comprehend AI technologies and integrate them into security operations, the spokesman highlighted.
