The Saudi Air Connectivity Program (ACP) aims to expand the development of air routes through 29 airports in the Kingdom in its next phase by adding the highest number of seats to the market, Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper reported, citing Rashed Alshammari, VP Aviation Development at ACP.

ACP links the National Tourism Strategy to the National Aviation Strategy by launching new routes that were previously unserved, adding additional flights in priority target markets, or inaugurating seasonal flights.

Alshammari, explained that through contracts with airlines, ACP maximizes benefit from technological solutions to fully facilitate passenger flights, as well as airports in terms of easing movement across all facilities. The program reviews and capitalizes on opportunities for improvement at all stages of the flights and discusses them with stakeholders in the system.

ACP has managed to launch more than 50 routes since its inception in 2021 to date. The program works to facilitate market entry, enhance expansion opportunities for travel partners, achieve the goals of Vision 2030, and empower the workforce while developing operational excellence by relying on the latest technologies, Alshammari concluded.
