US oil inventories fall by more than 9M barrels last week: API

Oil inventories in the US fell sharply by 9.16 million barrels during the week ended June 28, the American Petroleum Institute (API) data showed.

 

Gasoline stocks rose by 2.47 million barrels during the past week, while distillate stocks (including diesel and heating oil) decreased by about 740,000 barrels.

 

Meanwhile, Brent crude futures for September delivery (the most active) fell by 0.4%, or 36 cents, to close at $86.24 a barrel.

 

WTI crude for August delivery fell by 0.7%, or 57 cents, to record $82.81 per barrel.
