Prices of 114 Saudi goods, services rise in June

Prices of 114 goods and services in Saudi Arabia increased year-on-year (YoY) in June 2024, while prices of 52 others declined. Three commodities remained unchanged YoY, out of 169 goods and services in total, official data issued by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.

Out of 92 food products, prices of local round onion recorded the biggest rise by 55.45 % YoY last month, followed by local medium potato (47.55%).

On the other hand, local green chili pepper saw the steepest decline YoY at 16.23%, followed by local green pepper (14.56%).

Meanwhile, prices of 29 construction materials increased YoY in June, while nine products declined during the same month.

Prices of eight livestock and fodder products rose YoY last month, while five others fell annually.

For clothes, nine items under this category saw an increase and one decreased.

Prices of three miscellaneous personal goods and services climbed YoY in June, while one fell.

Prices of all detergent products increased last month compared to the same month the previous year.

Prices of the three health services edged up in June.

Elsewhere, prices of two services under the maintenance and repair of personal means of transportation were up in the same period.

Prices of hotel and furnished apartment services rose on an annual basis in June.

Under the tobacco category, the price of Marlboro fell YoY last month.
