Private sector's healthcare contribution might reach 22%: Al-Falih

Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih


Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih said that Saudi Arabia's population is expected to reach 50 million within the next decade.

 

Speaking at the Global Health Exhibition in Riyadh, the minister said the private sector's role in healthcare services is forecast to grow to 22%. Riyadh will be a global hub for biotechnology, he added.

 

Al-Falih added that the Kingdom is preparing to lead efforts in tackling global healthcare challenges.

 

He noted that $10 trillion is spent annually on healthcare, representing 10% of the global economy, which currently stands at $100 trillion.
