QFIs net buyers of SAR 16.4B worth of stocks in 9M

Qualified foreign investors (QFIs) were net purchasers of SAR 16.4 billion worth of stocks on the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) in the first nine months of 2024, an increase by 36% compared to SAR 12.1 billion in 9M 2023, according to data issued by Tadawul.

Foreign investors bought SAR 384.5 billion worth of shares and sold shares at a total value of SAR 368.09 billion in 9M 2024.

QFIs include SWAP agreements, qualified investors, resident investors, discretionary portfolio management (DPMs), and strategic partners.

June witnessed the highest value of QFI purchases on Tadawul, reaching SAR 10.60 billion, as it saw Saudi Aramco's secondary offering of 1.54 billion shares, or about 0.64% of its issued capital.

Meanwhile, net sales of Saudi individuals in all categories amounted to SAR 9.03 billion in 9M 2024, compared to SAR 2.05 billion a year earlier.

Net purchases by Saudi investors stood at SAR 848.27 billion, against net sales worth SAR 839.24 billion.

Saudi investors include retail investors, high net worth investors, individual professional investors, and individual DPMs.

June recorded the highest net retail purchases at SAR 6.68 billion.
