Industry Ministry reveals winners of exploration licenses for 6 mining sites

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources announced winners of exploration licenses in six mining sites across Riyadh, Makkah, and Asir.

On its official X account, the ministry explained that the total area covered under the mining tender amounted to 850 square kilometers.

The ministry stated that the number of bids during this round’s reached 44, submitted by 22 local and international entities.

A total of 10 companies participated for the first time. They were evaluated based on top-tier criteria that factor in technical expertise, work programs, and social and environmental commitments.

The round covered six sites, with a total area of ​​850 square kilometers.

Winners pledged to spend a total of SAR 75 million on exploration work, in addition to SAR 5 million allocated for developing communities adjacent to mining sites and contributing to job creation in less developed areas.

The ministry indicated that four companies obtained exploration licenses for the first time, highlighting the Kingdom’s attractiveness as a distinguished investment destination in the mining sector.

Last October, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the Ministry of Investment announced tendering seven mining exploration licenses through the “Taadeen” platform, for sites in Makkah and Riyadh. This is for mining an array of precious and basic metals such as gold, copper, zinc, lead, and silver. Technical offers for this round could be filed by November-end.
