Modon signs 23 deals worth SAR 1.75B for industrial cities development

The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) signed 23 contracts worth over SAR 1.75 billion ($467 million) with private sector firms to develop and complete infrastructure and superstructure projects across several industrial cities, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The agreements include the construction of 171 ready-built factories, each spanning 900 square meters, in the industrial cities of Dammam, Jeddah, Al-Kharj, and Sudair. Additionally, 76 ready-built factories will be developed in Jeddah’s food cluster, SPA added.

Infrastructure projects include upgrading Madinah’s industrial city, expanding MODON Oasis in Al-Ahsa with external road links, and building a 4.5-kilometer access road connecting Asir’s industrial city to the main highway.

Other projects include rehabilitating a 10-kilometer road in Sudair Industrial and Business City and phase two infrastructure upgrades in Dammam’s third industrial city.

MODON also signed contracts for building a fire station in Dammam’s First Industrial City and installing gates and fencing in Al-Kharj to improve safety measures.

Additional projects include expanding and upgrading Riyadh’s second industrial city.

These developments align with MODON’s 2024 plans to enhance investment environments in industrial cities through public-private partnerships.

The projects support the National Industrial Strategy and Vision 2030, aiming to ease operations, reduce investor burdens, and foster innovation. They will also drive sustainable development and boost industrial production capacity.
