Over 680 exceptional tech talents, researchers get Saudi premium residency

As many as 685 exceptional talents and researchers in the technology sector were granted premium residencies in Saudi Arabia under the Special Talent Residency product, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology announced.

At the fourth annual LEAP tech conference (LEAP25), the ministry stated 16% of the premium residency holders are 5G technology specialists, followed by cloud computing specialists at 15%, Saudi Press Agency reported.

These fields are the cornerstone of enhancing digital infrastructure, which boosts the Kingdom’s position as a leading country in adopting modern technologies.

In the context of supporting innovation, premium residency was granted to experts in artificial intelligence and machine learning, who constituted 12% of the talents. These fields are among the priorities in the Kingdom, due to their role in contributing to the development of many sectors such as healthcare, education, and digital industries.

Big data experts constitute 13% of the premium residency recipients. The specialization is witnessing rapid global growth in advanced economies that rely on the analysis of large and complex data.

The list also included professionals in Internet of Things technologies, financial technology, and advanced computing—fields that are key in supporting the growth of the digital economy in the country. These experts came from various countries around the world, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Brazil, India, Pakistan, and Egypt.
