Miahona wins SAR 1B project from MODON

Miahona Co. was awarded on March 25 a project by Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) for the rehabilitation, development, as well as enhancement of capacity and operational efficiency of the industrial wastewater treatment plant in Jeddah 1st Industrial City.

The contract is valid for 25 years, Miahona said in a statement to Tadawul, adding that the contract value is estimated at SAR 1 billion, subject to volume of consumption of water and wastewater services in the industrial city.

The project scope includes rehabilitating, upgrading, constructing, operating, maintaining, and managing the project systems during the contract period. This is in addition capital investment, land utilization, service provision, and revenue generation through treated water sales, all within the framework of a rehabilitation, operation, and transfer (ROT) model.

The company will also utilize the site and agreed-upon land based on the concession agreement, in addition to ensuring the continuity and reliability of providing public services related to wastewater and industrial water treatment.

Miahona will also treat raw wastewater and industrial effluent, market and sell treated water for industrial purposes, provide maintenance for external networks and lift stations, undertake all procedures related to any of the above-mentioned activities, and collect service fees.
